Stop the Bleed Day -Wisconsin

May 23

WSS Announces May 23 as Stop the Bleed Day in Wisconsin!
The Wisconsin Surgical Society has support from the state of Wisconsin to proclaim May 23 as Stop the Bleed Day in Wisconsin.
When a person is losing blood, every minute counts. On average, a trauma victim can bleed to death within five minutes, before professional emergency care arrives. The Stop the Bleed initiative was created to offer education and training to improve the survival of victims suffering from bleeding injuries. The program teaches people bleeding-control methods developed by the military and first responders to help everyday people become immediate responders.
The Wisconsin Surgical Society recently received a grant to offer Stop the Bleed education and training across the state and will be reaching out to counties, employers, and other organizations to offer these important tools.
If you have an interest in offering education and training for your group please reach out to Jeanette May –jmay@wisurgicalsociety.com
